Robert has enjoyed a thirty-plus year career in the international wine business. After graduating in hotel management, he joined the wine trade in London with royal warrant wine merchants John Harvey & Sons and became one of the youngest students to gain the WSET® Diploma. In recent years he studied at the Institute of Masters of Wine in London and over the years he has had the opportunity to travel throughout the world’s major wine regions, written numerous articles for publication and presented content on BBC radio. For the past decade, he has lived in Umbria and as a WSET® Certified Educator and the Wine Academy Italia Education Director he oversees all of their courses across Italy. Besides this, he is a regular judge at the Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards and the Radici del Sud competition and also works with Falstaff magazine
